Trevor Schuurman
Owner
Trevor's the proud owner of TrueNorth, and he’s the kind of guy who leads from the front — not behind a desk. He believes in hard work, straight talk, and doing the job right the first time. Quality matters, details matter, and so do the people he works with. For Trevor it’s about building trust and long-term relationships, the same way things used to be done.
When he’s off the job site, Trevor’s all about family time. He’s an outdoors guy through and through, and if there’s water nearby, there’s a good chance he’s got a line in it. He’s big on hunting and heading off the grid whenever he can. Fishing, fresh air, and time with loved ones keep him grounded and shape his work mindset daily.
Michael Boyer
Co-owner
Michael is the co-owner of TrueNorth and a big believer in earning things the honest way — through hard work, skill, and showing up every day ready to get it done. For Michael, it’s about more than business — it’s about doing right by people and standing behind the work long after the tools are packed up.
At the end of the day, he’s a proud dad who puts his family first. When he gets the chance to unplug, you'll find him out in the woods, off the grid, or sitting around a campfire. Fresh air, quiet nights, and a little dirt on his boots — that’s how he resets, and it’s the same steady, no-nonsense mindset he brings to work every day.
Our story: a foundation of strength
It all started with a simple idea and a passion for doing things the right way. We’re a small business built on personal connections, attention to detail, and work we’re proud to stand behind. Quality and honesty aren’t just words to us — they’re how we operate every day.
Our journey began in 2016 when Trevor founded ZAE Contracting in Elliot Lake, Ontario. As the business grew and he relocated to Sault Ste. Marie, the company was rebranded as Superior Elements, reflecting a continued commitment to top-quality craftsmanship.
In 2025, Michael’s Complete Contracting was established to serve Southern Ontario. With shared values and a dedication to excellence, the two companies joined forces in 2026 to form TrueNorth Building Group.
